4-H tradition runs deep within Sarah’s roots. Sarah’s parents were 4-H leaders and Sarah was an active 4-H’er throughout her youth.
Keeping with tradition, Sarah married a 4-H’er (Glenn) and raised 2 children in the Iowa 4-H program. Sarah was a 4-H leader until her youngest child graduated from high school in 2005.
Leaving the role of 4-H leader did not mean Sarah is not active in the Pocahontas County 4-H program. She has now taken on the role as an achievement show judge, teaches workshops to the local 4-H'ers, and is a supporter of the Pocahontas County 4-H Endowment Pie Auction making pie(s) every year. Sarah donates and plants flowers every year for the Pocahontas County Fairgrounds.
She believes the 4-H program benefits children throughout their lives with positive youth development opportunities.
Sarah has been a true inspiration for the Pocahontas County 4-H program.
