Martha Reed has been involved in Marion County 4-H for most of her life. Growing up, she exhibited sheep at the Marion County Fair.
While raising three sons with her husband John she was a leader of the Melcher Mi-Ts 4-H club for 16 years. Martha took a club that was dropping in numbers and produced a flourishing group of young individuals.
Martha was a founding member and continues to serve on the board of the Marion County Friends of 4-H and Youth Foundation that supports the youth of Marion County through funding of trips, camps, and activities as well as offering the 4-H and FFA members a senior scholarship award. As a member of the Marion County Friends of 4-H and Youth Foundation Martha has helped with several fundraisers including selling memorial bricks, camping at the county fair, and 4-H dances, to name a few.
Along with all of her involvement in our Foundation, she stays busy with her 6 grandchildren who have developed the family passion for 4-H, numerous projects, and showing sheep.
Marion County 4-H is grateful for Martha’s continued support and help in making our program what it is today!
