Dan and Donna Ryherd have been very active volunteers for the Hamilton County 4-H program for the past 30 years. They began their volunteer services during the time their children Mark, Lee, Grant and Jan were involved in the 4-H program and have continued serving Hamilton County 4-H’ers.
Donna was a 4-H member in Clayton County, where she showed beef animals. Dan’s 4-H experiences were in Blackhawk County where he had horticulture, swine and sheep projects. Both Donna and Dan’s parents served as 4-H volunteer leaders.
Following their college graduations, Dan and Donna served in the Peace Core where they became experienced volunteers. Dan served as a leader for the Freedom Warriors 4-H Club, and Donna served as a leader for the Boone Boosters 4-H Club. Donna has continued serving as our 4-H Food & Nutrition project leader, offering several workshops each year for Hamilton County 4-H’ers. Their 30 years of service to the Hamilton County 4-H program has left an impact on many young people.
Hamilton County would like to thank them both for keeping this 100 year tradition alive and well and we proudly select them as our inductees for 2015.
