Butler County’s Hall of Fame Inductee is C. Dale Boelman of Clarksville. In looking back, I’m not sure there was never a time when Dale was not involved in 4-H. His parents were both long time leaders and Dale was always active as well. He was particularly active in the beef project area.
Dale became a leader in 1988 and served as a leader for 10 years. During this time, Dale’s kids were also active 4-H members. From his early days as a Jefferson Future Farmer, up to today, Dale has been a strong supporter of 4-H. Dale also serves as the Vice Chairman of Butler County Farm Bureau, which has been a strong supporter of 4-H families, helping to pay the enrollment fee for Farm Bureau members’ families.
Dale has served as beef superintendent for the past 7 years, helping out at both the weigh-in and the beef show at the county fair. He helps out any member who asks for help and is always busy helping his grandkids in Polk County show their beef. Anyone who wants to know the ins and outs of beef, fitting and showing, knows they can call on Dale for help.
Dale was the recipient of the 4-H Alumni Award at the 2014 Butler County 4-H Awards program. Butler County is honored to submit Dale Boelman’s name as its 2015 Hall of Fame inductee!
