Lee Meyer

Buena Vista County 4-H is proud to recognize LEE MEYER as the 2015 Iowa Hall of Fame Honoree. Lee’s first experience with 4-H was as a member of the former Elk Antler 4-H Club in Elk township near Alta, Iowa. From there, Lee has experienced the full range of 4-H from member to parent; from fair board member to an elected Extension Council Chair. Lee Meyer and his wife Becky continue to reside in Alta, where they contribute willingly to the community.

"Lee is sincerely valued as a community partner. His willingness to build lasting collaborations and welcome new contributors to the decision-making table is greatly improving the experience for 4-H members in Buena Vista County," shares Nichol Kleepies, 4-H Youth Outreach Educator at ISU Extension and Outreach – Buena Vista County.

Lee is currently serving as the Buena Vista County Fair and Race Track Manager. In this capacity he attends to the daily operations of the Buena Vista Raceway as well as aiding the Buena Vista County FairLee Meyer receiving award Board with the county fair planning and preparation. Through his tireless efforts, big changes are happening at the Buena Vista County Fairgrounds. 4-H families will experience improved fair facilities, an expanded schedule of events, and new fair board members welcoming them at the gate of the 2015 Buena Vista County Fair!

4-H families of Buena Vista County say "Thank You" to Lee Meyer for being a compassionate and caring 4-H supporter throughout his life!
