Pocahontas County had the privilege of having Nancy Jenson as a part of their 4-H program for over 30 years. Nancy started her 4-H journey in Crawford County as a
4-H’er herself and continued as an Extension Home Economist serving Pocahontas, Humboldt and Calhoun County before becoming the County Extension Director for Pocahontas County.
Nancy worked as a professional in the 4-H program as well as volunteering her time with 4-H Clubs. Nancy established the Pocahontas County 4-H Endowment working hard to make the annual pie auction a huge success keeping the Pocahontas County 4-H Endowment growing and financially supporting the youth of Pocahontas County.
Not only has Nancy supported the 4-H program in Pocahontas County but has also supported many youth and adult programs. Nancy worked with the Pocahontas County Character Education Committee and was state alternate for the Iowa Character Citizen Award.
