Since becoming the Nashua FFA Instructor in 1983, Ron Zelle has been a strong leader for both 4-H and FFA programs. Ron has lead through his own family’s involvement in 4-H, by serving on committees, and challenging youth to do their best.
One of Ron’s biggest 4-H influences is family. Ron’s wife Mary Beth was a 10 year 4-H member in Franklin County, a long time club leader and an Extension Council member. Their two children Debra and Benjamin followed her footsteps and are both life-long 4-H’ers.
For many years Ron served on the Chickasaw County 4-H Youth Development Committee. He is very organized and communicates well with all ages. Ron’s many years of fair experience gives him the ability to discuss issues and sort details. His knowledge has truly helped our county create the best learning atmosphere for the youth.
Finally, Ron’s ability to connect with the youth sets him above the rest. He has a great work ethic that serves as an example to the other youth. He is a great challenger of the youth and helps them to see what they are really capable of accomplishing.
For these reasons, Chickasaw County honor Ron Zelle for induction to the 2014 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
