Living to make the best better would be a great motto for Dave and Nancy Foelske. This couple has been a strong family for the Bremer County 4-H program, and can be seen dedicating their time to the program and youth of the county.
Dave helps support the youth by taking on the task of the Poultry Superintendent and is innovative in creating new poultry broiler class opportunities, putting on workshops, and taking on the Pullorium testing so youth can exhibit and learn about their birds. He also is the Pigeon Superintendent at the Iowa State Fair and is always willing to lend a hand when it comes to promoting 4-H to the youth of Bremer County.
Nancy has played a strong role within the club and Extension Council for Bremer County. Being a club leader and volunteer for 21 years, Nancy has the traits that make a perfect leader and role model for youth to follow. Not only did she go out of her way to make sure kids had the club booth done and were involved in the community, but she went the extra step to ensure the 4-H youth were learning new skills and having fun in the process. Nancy has also been a member of the Extension Council and helps support the 4-H program through volunteering and attending events as an Extension representative.
Both Dave and Nancy are strong volunteers within their community attend events at their church, the local hospital, within the library, and spreading their good deeds and attitude wherever they can. Both of these individuals deserve this honor as they know the true meaning of 4-H and how to help impact others while making a difference in their lives and their families.
Bremer County is honored to nominate them for this very deserving award and look forward to seeing all the great ideas and volunteerism they will accomplish in the years to come.
