Mike started coaching the Scott County 4-H Livestock Judging Team in 1986 and twenty six years later is still coaching 4-Her’s. The program has enjoyed many state championship teams and many of the youth involved over the years have gained the experience of competing at national livestock shows.
What has been very rewarding over the years, has been watching many of the youth that have been through the program, enjoy various successes as a result of having developed their communication skills through livestock judging experiences.
Mike also was a 4-H leader for 8 years and enjoyed getting the 4-H club involved in various fun activities which helped turn what started as a small club into a large and vibrant club. Under his leadership members were challenged to stay involved in 4-H participating in a variety of activities.
