Kay Eggers has been involved with Marshall County 4-H since 1988 when her son became a member of the Central IA Livestock 4-H Club. She continued in that position for 20 years. Her daughter was also a member of the club. The livestock club merged with the State Center Clovers and is now known as the Central IA 4-H Club.
Kay worked part time at the Marshall County Extension Service for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant and 4-H & Youth Assistant. Over the years she has worked for eight different Extension Directors. Kay served on the Marshall County Home Economics Advisory Council, has been a volunteer at the Central Iowa Fair for non-livestock judging, and an area judge for record books being considered for state awards.
Kay has been our fair ‘specialist’ for the last 20 years getting the fair entries ready, preparing livestock show programs, recording weigh-ins, answering many questions from 4-H’ers and parents at the fairgrounds, and making sure everything is ready at show time. Kay’s knowledge of livestock, her 4-H background and her organizational skills keep the Central Iowa Fair 4-H shows running smoothly.
Thank you, Kay, for your continued dedication to the 4-H program in Marshall County.
