Davis County Extension is proud to recognize Debbie VanHorn as the 2011 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductee from Bloomfield.
Debbie has been involved with the 4-H program beginning as a 4-H member showing market pigs, then as a 4-H parent. She was a club leader in Wapello County for four years before moving to Davis County and has been a club leader in Davis County for 22 years.
Debbie is an active 4-H volunteer in Davis County. For the past 14 years she has been the 4-H exhibit building superintendent. She is a member of the 4-H & Youth Committee and held different offices in the group. She helps with weigh-ins, at the livestock shows during the fair and helps the County Youth Coordinator during the fair in show preparations.
Debbie teaches kindergarten and once school is out she spends many of her summer hours in the extension office preparing for fair.
