Marylu Watkins was not a 4-H member in her youth because she lived in town and back then 4-H was only for rural youth; however, just because she didn’t grow up green doesn’t mean she couldn’t turn green!
Marylu became a leader of the Moscow Busy Miss 4-H club, a position she held for 20 years. She has judged numerous achievement shows and county fairs, evaluated record books for awards at the county and state levels, served on the Muscatine County Youth Development Board, and been honored as a Muscatine County Honorary 4-H Member.
Back when her three children were busy being 4-H members, her family hosted a youth from Woodbury County in a 4-H county exchange and a Norwegian 4-H’er through the IFYE program.
Muscatine County is proud to name Marylu Watkins of Moscow, Iowa, as its 2011 Hall of Fame nominee.
