Gay was a dedicated 4-H leader, 4-H Committee member and a 4-H County Youth Coordinator at the Worth County Extension Service in Northwood. Gay was a former elementary school teacher who believed in a solid education and learning experience for youth.
She worked to maintain a strong educational focus in all of her workshops, seminars, county fair events and 4-H activities she organized. Her three children Carol, Pauline and John were blessed with a mother who really believed in the 4-H motto of “Making the Best Better”.
Gay served the Worth County 4-H program as a 4-H staff member from the mid 70’s to the early 80’s. She conducted a very well rounded program for all of the youth in Worth County during her tenure as program leader.
