2011 Winneshiek CountyBonnie began working for Iowa State University Extension in Winneshiek County in 1969. She started as a part-time receptionist and worked her way to Administrative Assistant. In March 2011, Bonnie retired from ISU Extension- Winneshiek County.

Because of her dedication to people, Bonnie has been recognized by many local community groups and youth organizations for her support. In 1997, Bonnie received the ISU Pride of Extension Award for office management. Over the years, Bonnie has received many other recognitions for her work.

She impacted the 4-H program in many ways. Whether it was work at a weigh-in, attend and organize a 4-H event, chaperone a 4-H trip, clerk a livestock show at the fair or provide resources for 4-H members, Bonnie was always there to lend a helping hand. She has been a tremendous role model and valuable resource for many 4-H members.

Bonnie and her husband, Ordell, live in Decorah and have both been supporters of 4-H. They have three adult children: Erik, Rona and Andrea. She has nine grandchildren. Winneshiek County feels very blessed to have Bonnie’s guidance and support for so many years.
