Paul and Janet Jacobs have always had a passion for the Wapello County 4-H program. They raised their four children, Mark, Susan, Becky and Kathy through the 4-H program and instilled in them the importance of giving back through volunteerism, leadership & citizenship.
Janet was active in 4-H as a child and has remained active as a leader and a member of several boards including the Wapello County 4-H Foundation, the County Youth Committee, and the Wapello County 4-H Expo board. Janet also enjoys judging family and consumer projects, science & engineering projects and queen contests at area county fairs.
Paul and Janet have been active supporters of the Wapello County 4-H program since the early 80's. They enjoy volunteering at 4-H Expo activities including weigh-ins, fair set-up and tear down, and Expo events. With Janet being the leader of the Highland Hotshots 4-H club for almost 10 years, the entire family was involved in multiple areas of the 4-H program and preparing for the fair. 4H was a family affair for the Jacobs family and Paul devoted many hours to helping his children and local 4-H'ers prepare and exhibit their livestock and science and engineering exhibits for the fair.
Although their children have graduated from the 4H program, Paul and Janet continue to volunteer and work to support the development of the Wapello County 4-H Expo so that their six grandchildren will have the opportunity to carry on the Jacobs family 4-H tradition in the future.
