Lawrence Peterson and the Adams County Fair are synonymous to most 4-Hers and adults in Adams County. As Adams County Youth and 4-H/FFA Fair board president since 1991 and board member since 1988, Lawrence “Pete” Peterson is a main force in keeping the Adams County Fair in Corning alive and growing. Year-a-round and “behind the scenes” Pete is always there to fix a water leak, unlock or lock a door or a gate, move a bleacher, or help a 4-Her.
First elected to the Adams County Extension Council in 1970, Lawrence has served in many other capacities as a 4-H supporter in Adams County, too. He has been a 4-H Leader, is the Fair Beef Superintendent, is on the Fair Sale committee, and serves on the Adams County Fair and Racing Board to name a few key positions. Lawrence was presented the Adams County “Friend of 4-H” award in 1987. It is with great respect and much gratitude that the Adams County Youth and 4-H committee nominate Lawrence Peterson to be the 2005 Adams County 4-H Hall of Fame Inductee!
