Ida County takes great pride in nominating Mary Dreeszen to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Mary served as a 4-H leader in Ida County for 15 years and was selected as the first annual Ida County 4-H Leader of the Year as leader of the Griggs Lassies in 1999. She was selected again in 2008 while leader of the Battle Badgers 4-H Club.
Mary was County Youth Coordinator for Ida and Sac counties from 1976-1980 and for Cherokee county from 1980-1982.
Mary has been an inspiration to many 4-H’ers while serving in the following capacities:
· Leader and Coordinator for the Clover Kid Program
· Superintendent of the Clothing Events at the Fair
· Style Show organizer and coordinator, as well as helping the 4-H’ers learn how to model their clothing
· Record Book Evaluator
· Area Awards Evaluator
· Ida County 4-H Leader for 15 years
One of Mary’s 4-H club members was quoted as saying, “Mary Dreeszen is a wonderful lady to be with and she is always giving great advice and words of encouragement every day.”
