LeRoy belonged to the first 4-H club in Dubuque County.
The name of this club is the Washington Senators. The club still flourishes today.
When he became old enough, LeRoy was one of many leaders to teach the next generation the many daily living skills needed to be a successful adult/farmer. He spent many hours assisting family, friends and neighbor kids with various projects. His experience and guidance was in dairy, beef and agriculture.
LeRoy helped established the tradition of the Guernsey breed being shown at the county fair This has become a life long family tradition continued today by his grand kids.
