Gloria and Joan have been 4-H leaders of the Green Shamrocks 4-H Club in the Kensett, Iowa area for a combined 45 years with Gloria at nearly 30 years and Joan with more than 15 years of service . They have worked together to build a strong club that has excelled in community service projects. They have positively touched the lives of hundreds of 4-Her’s during their tenure.
They annually raise $1,000 for the Worth County Cancer Relay for Life, cooperate with the Kensett Women’s Club Holiday Christmas Display, have filled and displayed luminaries, worked in the food stand, provided entertainment and have been the clean up crew for the annual fundraising event for cancer prevention. Gloria and Joan have been great mentors in teaching 4-H members to give back and be strong community service volunteers. Green Shamrock 4-H members have also been very prevalent in serving on the Iowa State 4-H Council, winning National 4-H Club Congress and D.C. National 4-H Conference trips and State 4-H Project Awards.
