Don Struthers, long time Collins area farmer, was originally a member of the Collins Comets 4-H Club while his mother served as club leader. During the late 1960’s/early 1970’s Don also served the adult volunteer leader of the Collins Comets 4-H Club. To this day, Don continues a very active role as he continues to serve on the Story County Extension Inspiration Committee which annually organizes the Inspiration Program during the Story County Fair. Struthers was a member of the Story County Fair Association for the past 15 years and has served eight years as President of the Fair Board. Don and his wife, Sharon, raised four children, all who were active in 4-H and one son, David, who currently serves as a 4-H Club Volunteer Leader.
