Ann Stillman is well known in her community as a volunteer for many worth-while causes. One of those worthwhile causes has been 4-H. She was a 4-H club leader for 19 years, three of those years in Audubon, and the rest in Palo Alto County. As a leader of the Freedom Busy Bees, she taught club members how to latch hook, decoupage, refinish projects, and make birdhouses. She always encouraged all members to be well-rounded, to not only take exhibits to the fair, but to also take advantage of the many learning opportunities 4-H offers. One year she accompanied 4-Hers on an exchange trip to Japan. Her passion for 4-H along with her ability to teach and encourage have greatly enhanced many 4-H’ers’ lives.
Ann also served on the Palo Alto County Fair Board for 10 plus years, serving as treasurer for most of those years. More recently she has been a volunteer group guide for EPAK, an ag environmental program that is held each year at the fairgrounds and that is attended by all the 4th graders in the county. Palo Alto County is proud and fortunate to have Ann as a part of their 4-H community.
