Ida County is pleased to nominate Roland and Virginia Jensen to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Roland and Virginia were both very active 4-H members in their youth. Roland with the Blaine township boys’ club, and Virginia with the Logan township girls’ club. Virginia was one of the first members/officers of the Logan Stars 4-H Club started by her mother, Mrs. Rueben Johnson, in 1939.
Both Roland and Virginia served as leaders in the Ida County 4-H program for over 20 years combined.
Roland served on the Extension 4-H Committee for numerous years and was Chairman for 2 years. He was also the Pen of 5 Beef Superintendent for many years at the Ida County Fair until his passing in 1986.
Virginia also served on many committees within Ida County 4-H and was a Floriculture Superintendent at the Ida County Fair for over 50 years.
