Roger and Deb Schmidt are no strangers to the 4-H program. Roger started out as a youth showing cattle and horses and then as an adult he was on the fair board for 9 years. As a fair board member Roger was instrumental in getting many projects started including the livestock auction, FFA involvement in fair, renovating and building new structures and the overall encouragement of members especially in the livestock projects. Deb assisted by setting up and running the filing system used for the auction as well as running the food stand and the commercial building. In recent years Roger and Deb have donated time, money and supplies to the 4-H program as well as insuring area business continue to support the kids through the livestock auction. Two of their kids were active in 4-H and now they enjoy watching and supporting their grandchildren along with all youth in Hancock County 4-H.
