Kitty has been a club leader for 24 years and served on the county youth committee numerous times. She has been a true advocate and supporter of 4-H. Kitty has helped with numerous events at the count level such as clothing and communication days, awards banquets and evaluated record books. During the static exhibit judging Kitty has checked in items, helped with tear down and everything in between, for many years. She serves as a very capable leader to a large club and has high expectations on record books being completed and encourages members to apply for county awards. Kitty is always present to cheer on and encourage her members whether it is at county fair, the basketball tournament, cooking day, etc… She has had a lifetime of dedication to 4-H.
Bill Shepherd has been an important part of the 4-H organization not only at the club level, but also at the county, state and regional level. He has served as a club leader for 35 years, been on the youth committee numerous times and diligently works to evaluate members’ record books. Bill was instrumental in getting the Marion County 4-H Foundation organized and functioning. Shepherd also served on both the State & Regional 4-H Leader’s Retreat Planning Committees. In 1990-1992 Bill served as the state 4-H Council advisor. From 1995-1997 Shepherd was the advisor of the Area 4-H Council. One of Bill’s favorite 4-H events is CWF, as he has chaperoned four groups to DC and served as a trip coordinator once. Bill Shepherd has undoubtedly been very active in the 4-H organization at all levels.
