Doug Johnson’s involvement with and contribution to 4-H was widespread and widely felt. Doug was most recently a member and driving force of our county fair board. As a beef superintendent, he helped promote and grow the beef program in Jefferson County. One of his favorite projects was the Bucket/Bottle calf program. Doug spent a great amount of time and care with our younger 4-H members and their bottle calves, giving them advice, sharing his knowledge, and encouraging them.
Doug was a pleasure to work with, an invaluable source of knowledge and experience, and a sincere and genuine person. His guidance and influence is still felt in Jefferson County and he is truly and deeply missed.
