Lu grew up in the 4- H Program in North Dakota so when raising her family she knew the value, goals and aims of the 4-H program.
Lu was always ready to volunteer as a 4-H Leader, Camp counselor, Judge, County Fair Superintendent, 4-H and Youth Committee Extension council and Iowa 4-H Foundation Trustee, and was rewarded by her children’s success and her own recognitions received such as the State Alumni Award. She is currently still serving as coordinator of the Farm City Day which brings senior 4-H member and their Ag oriented projects together with city school children and is helping to initiate the Woodbury County 4-H Foundation.
