Deb Owens combines her love of kids and dogs as she volunteers in Boone County as dog obedience instructor and dog superintendent, which she has done for a total of 34 years. She is knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging with 4-H’ers and dogs. Deb assists with the State Fair 4-H dog show, judges 4-H dog shows throughout the state, owns a canine business, is an active member of the Cyclone Country Kennel Club, and is a donor of 4-H dog awards. Deb has also volunteered as a club organizational leader for 9 years and served 10 years on the Boone County 4-H Youth Committee and 8 years on the Boone County Extension Council.
· 4-H Dog obedience and handling class instructor for 34 years – 10 in Story County and 24 in Boone County (major time commitment of 10 weeks of class each year for beginners to advanced dogs and 4-H trainers.)
