For Wayne Molstad of Moville, being part of 4-H and the County Fair was just doing what was expected - a family tradition. When his father could no longer serve as 4-H Leader or assistant and County Fair Superintendent, Wayne took over these positions.
Wayne was poultry superintendent from the time this program was initiated in Woodbury County (1959) until all his children were through the 4-H program and then continued as a Fair Board member. He was recently recognized for serving on the Woodbury County Fair Board for 38 years. Wayne has 5 children who were all active in 4-H and several grandchildren.
Wayne served many years as a member of the Woodbury County Farm Bureau Board, was an active member of the Moville United Methodist Church and is currently on the Administrative Board, was a Soil Conservation Commissioner and is currently Chairman of the Board of Farmers Mutual Insurance.
