Leland is currently involved with 4-H in a variety of ways. He assists with the Fairfield Clover Kids Club monthly. He helps during the annual Farm Safety Day Camp held during the Jefferson County Fair. Leland also serves as a static exhibits judge for a number of county fairs. During the Iowa State Fair, he has assisted with 4-H Exhibit Building Checkout for 10 years and for the past few years has worked in the Agriculture Building.
4-H has long been a part of Leland’s life. His father was one of the original Jefferson County Fair Board members when the current fairgrounds were purchased. He has been a ‘behind the scenes’ participant helping his wife as she was a 4-H leader and leader of the County Teen Council. He has been a 4-H member, leader, volunteer, judge, and parent of 4-Hers.
The 4-H program in Jefferson County benefits greatly from his knowledge and assistance. Leland is always willing to help wherever and whenever needed and genuinely enjoys what he does.
