Chester was a leader for the Garfield All Stars in Ida County for over 50 years. His dedication to the 4-H program will long be remembered by the 4-H’ers of Ida County. He never missed a day of the fair and was always present to support his 4-H members in their showing of livestock and projects. One of his fondest memories was to have one of his 4-H club members, Julie Wolterman of Danbury, become the Iowa State Fair Queen.
The 4-H kids were his family and it brought him great joy to see them excel in their projects and life skills. Chester was an encourager and never missed an opportunity to invite someone to a 4-H club meeting. His dedication to 4-H in Ida County will long be remembered.
