Dave has the highest regard for the 4-H program and what it has to offer our youth. He has always loved judging junior shows and sharing information with the young people. Dave has devoted his career to improving livestock and to agriculture. He feels 4-H has been an important part of his life and his family’s life.

· 4 children were in 4-H
· 4-H leader in Story and Winnesheik Counties
· Judged swine shows across the country for 45 years
· Assistant superintendent & ringman for the county beef show for several years
· Served on the County Youth Committee two different times
· Serves on the County Extension Council (second term)
· Member of the Iowa State Fair Board since 1979
· Winnesheik County 4-H Alumni Award
· Contributor to the Iowa 4-H Foundation, the Winnesheik County 4-H Endowment Foundation, and the County Clover Kids program
· Member of the Winnesheik County 4-h Endowment committee
· Auxiliary member of the Winnesheik County Fair Board
Assisted with the county fair swine show & was ringman for many years
