Ober AndersonOber Anderson has had a large impact on 4-H and the Polk County Fair through his 27 years as Polk County Extension Education Director from 1966-1993.  He was a Story County 4-H Leader for 7 years and Winnebago County 4-H’er for eight years where he also served as a county officer.  He is currently serving his 41st year helping with the Iowa State Fair 4-H & FFA Barbecue.

Ober attributes 4-H and the Winnebago Extension Director as instrumental in his decision to go to college after being encouraged to do a presentation on how to insulate walls of a hog building using ground corn cobs that received a blue ribbon.
