Edgar Dorow served as a County Director for ISU Extension for 35 years. He began his service in Dickinson county in 1948, moved to Mitchell county 3-1/2 years later, and retired from Extension in 1983.
Edgar was, and still is, an advocate for 4-H and Extension. He conducted workshops for livestock exhibitors and provided leadership and direction for the 4-H Club program. While serving as County Director, he was instrumental in establishing a Foundation for the Mtichell county 4-H program that provides financial support for 4-H’ers to attend camps and conferences.
Edgar says that the greatest reward for him was to see youth grow and develop into responsible adults through the 4-H experience.
