JoAnn A. Billerbeck was involved with 4-H for many years. JoAnn was very supportive of the Grundy County 4-H program as a 4-H'er, Leader, & Volunteer. She started as a member of the Lincoln Links 4-H club in Hudson. After that, she was a club leader for several years in the 1970's for the Black Hawk Echoes 4-H club in Reinbeck. She has also helped out during entry day at the Grundy County Fair for the last several years. She and her husband, Arlyn, have six children who were all active members of 4-H, beginning in 1968 through 1983. She gives a lot of support to her three grandchildren, Melissa, Jason & Ashley who are actively involved in Grundy County and state 4-H activities. In addition, she was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and Chairman of the Grundy County Porkettes. She was a member of the Circle R's square dance club in Reinbeck for over 20 years and was co-chair of the State Square Dance Convention in 2001. JoAnn stayed very active until her passing in July, 2002. A 4-H Friend remembered JoAnn as a well groomed woman, with a calm attitude when dealing with all of the 4-H kids no matter how active they were. She was creative, and taught others well. JoAnn not only taught other 4-H’ers, she spent a lot of time preparing her own children to be good people & fine upstanding adults.
