2005 Woodbury County - Jack PowellJack Powell has served 50+ years as a 4-H volunteer for the Woodbury County 4-H Program.  Jack was a 4-H member of the Pierson Blue Ribbon 4-H Club. As a member he showed cattle, horses and swine at the Woodbury County Fair.

Jack became the leader of the Pierson Blue Ribbon 4-H Club in 1952 and served for 30 years.  He also has served as a 4-H Beef Superintendent, Herdsmanship Superintendent and General Livestock Superintendent and for many years on the 4-H Sub- Committee.  During Fair, Jack can be seen at various Livestock shows and in the Wood Chip Trailer.
 
Jack has received the County 4-H Alumni and State 4-H alumni awards.  He attended National Congress in Chicago as a 4-H leader.  His greatest award is watching youth grow and learn through the 4-H program.

In addition to his dedication to the 4-H Club program, Jack is active in the Pierson Methodist Church and served as deacon at church services and funerals.  He is also active in the Limousin Association.

Jack and his wife Dorothy have 3 children and 4 grandchildren - all of which have been active in the Woodbury County 4-H Program.
