Upon learning of Shirley’s retirement from the Linn County Extension Office, after 24 years of employment, the Youth Programs Committee and the Extension Council knew who to select as the Linn County Hall of Fame inductee for 2004 – Shirley Gugler. Shirley was involved with 4-H all her life – as a member – in fact, she even met her husband at a 4-H skating party - , leader, committee member, 4-H parent, chaperone for out of state exchange trips and this year, was a chaperone for the Citizenship Washington Focus. Even though retired, she still continues to support the efforts of the Linn County 4-H program.
