Roger served as O’Brien County Extension Director for over 20 years helping to lead the O’Brien County 4-H program. He spearheaded the start of the O’Brien County Advanced Lamb Feeder program that is still in existence today. Since then, other counties have modeled their programs after this one.
Roger also provided leadership for Area 4-H camping events and programs and felt strongly that 4-H was a learning experience for everyone. Former co-workers have stated, “…he was committed to make the 4-H program successful!” and was a “…good person to work with….a positive contributor.”
Roger was also active with the Northwest Research Farm Association in Sutherland helping with organizational activities and fund raising.
Roger is survived by his wife Jan in Primghar and their son Mitchell, who graduated from Iowa State University.
