Charles and Barbara Oldham have been dedicated to the 4-H program in Mahaska County. Barbara is the organizational leader of the Harrison Zippers 4-H Club, and Charles is the organizational leader of the Harrison Hustlers 4-H Club. Even though their own children are no longer members, Barb and Charles continue as active leaders.
Charles and Barb encourage club members to be involved in Communications projects on the club and county level. They also support Community Service projects within their clubs. They always lead by example.
Barb and Charles offer stability and support to each club member. They are always willing to help a club member with projects. Barb has helped numerous first time sewers complete their projects. Charles is always visible at the county fair, watching all the various animals’ shows to offer his encouragement to each of the club members.
They both generously give their time and energy to the 4-H program. They attend State Leader Retreats and share with other leaders what they have learned. Charles and Barbara both believe in the 4-H ideals and want to pass them on to others in Mahaska County.
