Mary WadsworthMary Wadsworth is from a 4-H family: both her father and grandfather were active in 4-H, and her two brothers and three sisters were active 4-Hers, as well.  An eleven-year Hubbard County 4-Her, she was participated in many project areas – including horses, sheep, cattle, rabbits, and chickens – and was active on the local, county, and state level.  In 1971 she was honored with the Dan Patch award – a state award recognizing her achievement in horse projects – and earned a trip to the National Club Congress.  Mary attended the University of Minnesota-Waseca and received a Associate Degree in Animal Science.  

Following graduation, Mary settled in the Dunlap area where she became a leader for the Harrison County 4-H horse project.  She met and married Steve Wadsworth and started a family, her two sons Kyle and Eddie.  She became a 4-H leader for the Boyer Rooters 4-H Club when her son Kyle joined 4-H.  In addition to serving as club leader, Mary spent ten years as Secretary – Treasurer and horse show and rabbit superintendent for the 4-County Fair, served on the 4-H and Youth Committee, was county fair dog and goat superintendent, taught dog obedience to county 4-Hers, became a poultry tester to test 4-H birds, and judged 4-H goat shows.
