Jim and Arlene Lage have shown amazing support and dedication in their contribution to the Iowa 4-H program. They have worked together as well as individually to enhance the 4-H programs in Plymouth and Allamakee counties
Jim and Arlene served as County 4-H Council Advisors for Allamakee County, are members of the State Arboretum, and promoters of the 4-H Foundation and State 4-H camp.
In addition, Jim was a seven-year 4-H leader in Plymouth County and seven-year Iowa 4-H Foundation Board member. Jim served on the Plymouth County Council and was a leader in obtaining funding for the Extension sponsored Child Car pilot program. Arlene was a seven-year 4-H leader in Allamakee county as well as serving on the County Youth Council. Arlene has been a 4-H judge for 11 years and has volunteered for the Plymouth and Allamakee County fairs for twenty-eight years. Arlene continues to act as a club advisor and assistant to individual 4- members and parents.
Each of their four children has been involved in 4-H and were active ten year members. The Lage’s, their children, and grandchildren continue the proud family tradition of 4-H involvement and support today. Jim and Arlene’s service to 4-H has enriched the program and touched the lives of numerous youth.
