2002 Winneshiek County - Mary LeuenbergerMary Leuenberger served as leader of the Turkey Valley Clovers for 45 years.  Mary and her husband Clinton are retired from farming and recently moved to Spillville.  They are the parents of 4 children: Sharon Kleve, Jim Leuenberger, Anita Stock and Joann Martin.  They have 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Mary has received much county recognition.  She received the “Governor’s Volunteer Award” from Gov. Terry Branstad for 32 years in 4-H and the “Our Lady of Good Counsel Award” from Bishop Dunn awarded by the Dubuque Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Mary has dedicated her life to her family and 4-H.  Mary has given so much to the young people of the area.  She recently celebrated her 80th birthday and 45 years in 4-H.  Mary received a mountain of cards, many with messages from members telling stories of her influences in their lives.  Winneshiek County feels very blessed they have had Mary’s guidance and love for so many years.
