Kathy has been an active supporter of the Van Buren County 4-H program for many years. The last 11 years she has served as the Jolly Trio 4-H Club leader. Kathy has been an inspiration and quiet encourager to many 4-H members.
Kathy is an elementary teacher at the Harmony School system and encourages 4-H members in her daily activities. She is a person that works behind the scenes, paying attention to many details and always having the 4-H member’s interest as the main focus.
Kathy has the vision to see the holistic picture of the 4-H activities and the life skills that members gain from their 4-H participation. She encourages all family members to become involved in the activity and gradually gets everyone to share the youth’s enthusiasm for the project. Kathy has spent many hours assisting the Jolly Trio 4-H Club with community service projects such as Main Street Breakfast, Adopt a Highway project, fair clean up activities, and July 4th celebrations in Bonaparte to name a few. She is always a smiling volunteer for many 4-H and Van Buren County Extension requests for her time and assistance.
