Mary Pat Wiedmann has been a lifelong Madison County 4-Her. Active in many exhibit areas as a youth, Mary Pat has continued her 4-H career as a parent volunteer and organizational club leader of the Crawford Hillsiders 4-H club. Encouraging 4-Hers and their families to become involved in a variety of 4-H activities, Mary Pat believes there is something for everyone in the 4-H program. From record keeping work meetings to community service projects and helping with activities at the fair, Mary Pat encourages her club to see and practice the true Power of Madison County’s YOUth. Recognizing leaders within her club, Mary Pat also works to encourage those who may not step up willingly, become confident in their abilities to take on leadership roles.
Providing guidance to the club and encouraging youth to strive for the best, Mary Pat believes the club belongs to the youth and allows the group to make decisions, creating teamwork and a deeper sense of pride and ownership within the club.
Currently employed as a nurse for the Iowa Heart Center in Des Moines, Mary Pat is a caring, yet determined leader that has been involved in a number of activities, such as the Madison County Fairboard, church vocalist, catechism teacher and little league coach throughout the years.
Words cannot express how thankful Madison County is to have volunteers like Mary Pat to help guide our youth through their 4-H experience.
