Jeannett Kruse has for 23 years been at the center of the Jackson County 4-H Youth Development Program. While her position has been that of Office Assistant, she is the focal pint in administration of our 4-H program – from answering hundreds of calls every year, to walk-ins needing every conceivable answer to a 4-H question. She has oriented at least five new 4-H Program Assistants, and at least four County Directors to the wonderful world of Jackson County 4-H.
Jeannett is an associate member of the Jackson County Fair Board and serves on the Jackson County Cemetery Association. Because of her desire to make the Jackson County 4-H program the best, she volunteers hundreds of uncompensated hours to the program: particularly ensuring that the Jackson County 4-H Fair is top-notch. Jeannett personally prepares and sends all Fair premium checks; she prepares all Fair programs; she is at the fairgrounds every day to help and to smooth the otherwise hectic ruffles often arising there.
Jeannett has seen and served three generations of 4-H’ers, and is the resource for 4-H information on all generations of Jackson County 4-H’ers and families. She is a special and honored professional who is most deserving of being in the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
