2002 Dubuque County - Mable HiltonMable was a leader for the Asbury Juliens 4-H Club in Dubuque County for 50 years until her retirement in 1998.  Mable was also a teacher, was active in the Dubuque County Farm Bureau Women’s Group, and received a “Mother of 4-H” award in 1972.

Mable was very particular about parliamentary procedure and made sure it was followed during club meetings.  She enjoyed reading the record books and would write many paragraphs of suggestions and compliments in each member’s book.  Mable always cut out clippings about the 4-Hers for their use.  She was very goal oriented and made sure members knew their goals.
Mable often said “cooperative parents, interested members and dedicated leaders are ingredients for a good 4-H Club.”
