Jane Wilson served as a 4-H Club leader for a number of years and even coordinated the Des Moines County 4-H program in the middle ‘80s, when the Extension office was without staff. She has been most extensively involved with service to youth through her membership on the county 4-H Youth Committee. In this area of service, she has served as committee chair, vice chair, secretary, and a 4-H Youth Committee representative to numerous county fair committees such as non-livestock, communications, poultry, horse, and dog.
As a fourteen-year member of the Des Moines County Extension Council, Jane has advocated for 4-H issues, served as a liaison to the 4-H Youth committee, and County Fair Board. For many years, Jane has attended the annual Fair Judges School, primarily to better assist with improving the quality of the 4-H part of the Des Moines County Fair. Jane assisted for several years at the 4-H Exhibit building at the Iowa State Fair. One of her most recent activities has been to form a 4-H Clover Kids Club in Danville, an undertaking that she is enjoying immensely.
