Marlene was orginally from Sumner, Iowa, where she was active as a 4-H’er. As an adult she went on to be a leader for the “Lakes Ambitious Vestae”, latin for “Keepers of the Hearth”. Marlene was a 4-H leader in Cerro Gordo for more than 15 years
Marlene currently serves as chair of the Cerro Gordo County Extension Council. Marlene serves on the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board and was instrumental in developing a permanent 4-H display at the Kinney Pioneer Museum. She continues to judge at county fairs and is a respected and trusted volunteer with Cerro Gordo’s 4-H youth. The county relies heavily on her participation with their 4-H program.
