This new initiative supports the Iowa 4-H Beyond Ready growth plans to reach more youth and provide more long-term opportunities across the state of Iowa. Special donor funding as been provided to offer "start-up" funds for new clubs to get established.
Goals:
- Support development of new clubs: One new club per county
- Provide new opportunities for long term engagement
- Reach new 4-H members
Guidelines:
- Enrollment fees covered for all new club members for the first year. County will receive $500 for supplies and administrative support. Funding will be received once charter documentation is completed.
- New Charters must be submitted by December 31, 2026
- Must include at least 80% NEW members
- Can be K-3 or 4-12
- Must meet all club standards: meet at least six times a year, have the appropriate number of adult volunteer leaders, and must consist of at least five members from three families.
- Format may be a traditional community club, an after school club, special interest club or a club hosted by a community partner.
- Clubs may be initially led by staff so long as there is a transition plan to volunteer leadership.
- One club per county. If funding remains, counties will be eligible to request support for additional clubs.
Special Incentive: The first 25 Clubs to submit their charter will receive a new club kit!
