The recipients of the 2025 Pioneer Seed Grants have been awarded. Designed to stimulate local 4-H clubs in Iowa to plan and carry out community improvement activities, Pioneer provides “seed money” needed to make the projects successful. 4-H Club members are responsible for planning, writing and carrying out the community service project.
2025 Grant Recipients are:
Arlington Future Farmers, Woodbury County: Creating and assembling new community banners for light posts on Fair Street.
Bluff Creek Wranglers, Boone: Updates to the landscape and beautifying Grand Heritage Community Center..
Boots and Blue Jeans, Monroe: Clean up and build fencing around the cemetery, in addition replace or repair headstones.
Bronson Rustlers, Woodbury: Host community event that will provide free hot dogs, drinks, petting zoo, carnival type games, face painting, pony rides and bounce houses.
Carlisle Trail Blazers, Warren: Host a large-scale personal care item drive to challenge the Carlisle Elementary School, Hartford Upper Elementary School and the Carlisle Middle School students to donate specific items.
Ceniteers, Jefferson: Rebuilding and painting the fairgrounds ticket booth.
Country Cousins, Mills: New addition of a playground to the Mills County Fairgrounds.
E-NP Bearcats, Hardin: Build a gravity wagon basketball shooting game, as another free game for the kids at the county fair.
East Boyer Rustlers, Crawford: Club would like to plant the new trees on the fairgrounds that would create shade, beautiful to the area, and habitat to the animals.
Elk Horn Explorers (Lillian Niklasen), Shelby: Provide supplies and items in a laundry basket to recently housed veterans.
Friendly 4 Corners, Van Buren: Add recreation to the Health Care center for seniors to help pass the days.
Future Leaders, Jefferson: Building, painting & installing wooden railings for the show arena.
Gowrie Groundbreakers, Webster: Purchase of new benches to place along the outer wall of the indoor arena that will allow seating by the Kids Area.
Lodomillo Leaders, Clayton: Host a Community Bingo Day aiming to encourage socialization, bridge generational gaps, and improve the quality of life for our aging population.
Luther Livewires, Boone: Build more picnic tables to place at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
Plants & Things, Palo Alto: Plant a variety of 5-8 year old deciduous tree species along the walking trail in Emmetsburg.
Polk 101, Benton: Plant sustainable landscaping, such as perennials, native plants, flower beds, and install decorative lighting, and other elements in Urbana.
Ross Wranglers, Taylor: Install a metal sign for the outside of the animal barns and plant flowers.
Stratford Spirit, Hamilton: Replace flower boxes and replant flowers inTear and dig out the bricks forming the flower box and replace them with a more secure structure of bricks at the fairgrounds.
Summit Super Stars, Adair: Plant trees for Greenfield residents that lost theirs in the EF4 tornado in May 2024.
