Applying for 4-H College Scholarships
Iowa 4-H members are eligible to apply for 4-H scholarships if they meet individual scholarship requirements (i.e. designated college and/or major program of study, county of residence, 4-H event participation, etc.) Applicants must enroll as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) to receive scholarship awards. Only ONE application form is needed for all Iowa 4-H scholarships. Eligible Iowa 4-H youth may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship per individual will be awarded per academic year. Please visit the links below for more information.
To be eligible for any of the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarships 2 letters of recommendation are required - one from an Extension staff member or 4-H volunteer and one from a school/college academic advisor or teacher. College undergraduates may submit both letters from academic advisors.
The 2023 scholarship application is now closed. All 2024 4-H scholarship applications are due March 1, 2024, 11:59 p.m. A list of scholarships and qualifications can be found at the application site and in the links below.

Hills Bank Leadership Grant
IMPORTANT: Application deadline is March 1, 2023.
Open to current high school Juniors in Southeastern Iowa, this program offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills and earn a 4-H Scholarship. You do not need to be a current Iowa 4-H member to apply for the Leadership Scholarship program.
For current High School Juniors- Hills Bank Leadership Grant applicants will also need 2 letters of recommendation from either a community member, employer, or volunteer and from a school teacher or academic advisor.
Within the application is a section to send the request to each reference for a letter to be submitted on your behalf. Please begin your application in a timely fashion to give your references time to submit their letter.
